About this site

Meteorite Falls is an independent reference site run by Jocelyn Ward. It turns one public table, NASA’s Meteorite Landings dataset, into a page for every distinctive observed meteorite fall, with maps and comparisons computed from the data.

The site is not affiliated with NASA, The Meteoritical Society or Natural Earth. Their data is used as published; every ranking, distance and summary is computed by this site, and the method is set out on Reading the record.

The record ends in 2013. Mass figures are recovered masses as recorded, and class labels are given as they appear in the record. The site has no advertising, no accounts and no tracking.
