Other achondrites

Of the 1,063 observed falls in NASA’s Meteorite Landings dataset (records to 2013), 19 are other achondrites: melted or partly melted stony meteorites outside the HED group. The same dataset holds 285 complete find records of this group, so seen falls make up 6.2 % of its records. Median recovered mass of the falls: 1.9 kg. The heaviest is Norton County (1.1 tonnes, 1948). The earliest is Aubres in 1836. The most recent is Almahata Sitta in 2008. They were recorded in 12 countries: the United States (4), India (3), Sudan (2), Russia (2), Mexico, Brazil, France, Finland, Pakistan, Nigeria, the United Kingdom, Romania.

Bright dots: falls in this group. Faint dots: all other observed falls.
